Shri Parasmal Bohra Netraheen Mahavidyalaya, Chokha, Jodhpur

 
 
Shri Parasmal Bohra Netraheen Mahavidyalaya was established on 1stAugust 2022, at Ramraj Nagar, Chokha, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) with a aim to serve blind students by providing them accessible learning environment where they can reach to their best potential. The students were facing lot of problems to pursue higher education in general colleges. Since its inception it has been a boon for blind boys and girls.
This initiative to foster the higher studies for blind and visually impaired students was taken by Smt. Sushila Bohra to the Rajasthan Government who very humbly . approved the proposal & recognized the college. At present total strength is 127 students. 
 
This is the only Degree college for Blind Students all over Rajasthan. The subjects of curriculum are in the field of Arts which are Hindi Literature, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Sociology, Music & Computer. Additionally General Knowledge is taught to students to help them to participate in Competitive Exams. 
Braille Teacher helps the students to get better connected with standard books& papers. Our faculties employ a variety of teaching methods, including tactile learning tools & Audio Learning Mechanism. These recordings are provided to the students in the form of a pen drive or through the mode of What’sapp. Students are also given regular computer training so that they can become self-reliant in the future. Co-Curricular Activities are regularity organized which includes Extempore, Poetry Competitions, Singing Competitions, Debate etc. 
Sports Activities involves Outdoor Games like Cricket & Indoor Games like Carom, Chess, Ludo, Snake & Ladder etc. We promote diversity of Indian Culture among students by celebrating all the festivals by showcasing their performances. Students participate in several competitions conducted by different Organizations. Our team strives to motivate & support them with their progress at each step of their life.
 
Future Expansion of Shri Parasmal Bohra Netreheen Mahavidhalya
 
College has an optimistic future expansion plan for upcoming years. Our main aim is to add a new premise for the students where we can conduct following.
 
• New College & Hostel Buildings : At present the college is run in Ajay Leela Speical Teachers Training College in the same compound where new college as well separate Boys & Girls Hostel buildings are proposed. The 10 bighas of land was allotted long back by Government of Rajasthan.   
 
• Inclusion of Multi-Disciplinary Subjects: We have plan to include more subjects like Home Science, Geography, Philosophy, Psychology etc.
 
• Audiology Room: A separate audiology room where lecturers can prepare their recordings in a better manner.
 
• Music Room: Students have a keen interest in Music, particularly music instruments like Sitar,Guitar,piano,drums,trombone, violin, saxophone,flute etc.
 
• Auditorium: We conduct ample number of workshops and seminars annually which pertains to the need of Seminar Halls for the students.
 
• Braille Equipment: Their mode of study is Braille where we need Perkins Braille, Braille Printer, Audio Recorders to fulfill all the academic requirements .
 
• Meditation Centre: We are planning to have a separate meditation center for students where they can leave negative emotions and have a positive approach to face difficulties & problems.
We have a mission to take Shri Parasmal Bohra Netraheen Mahavidyalaya to reach new heights so that it can serve blind students and enable them to be self-reliant in all spheres of life .
